Amazon Selling Partner API (SP-API) Data Policy
When you authorize our application to connect with your Amazon Seller Central account, we programmatically access certain non-public information, referred to as "Amazon Information," in strict accordance with the Amazon Services API Developer Agreement and the Data Protection Policy (DPP).
1. Personally Identifiable Information (PII) Access and Use
- Data Accessed: This includes Personally Identifiable Information (PII) such as customer names, shipping addresses, and phone numbers.
- Purpose Restriction: We access PII solely for the purpose of fulfilling Merchant Fulfilled Network (MFN) orders (e.g., generating shipping labels, handling delivery) and for legally required purposes, such as calculating or remitting taxes.
- Prohibited Use: We do not use Amazon Information, including PII, for any secondary purposes, such as marketing, advertising, internal business analytics, or providing the data to third parties (unless required for order fulfillment, e.g., to a shipping carrier).
2. Data Retention and Deletion (Mandatory 30-Day Rule)
We adhere to the strictest retention requirements set forth by Amazon's DPP:
- We retain PII only for as long as is necessary to fulfill the order.
- All PII is permanently deleted from our live and accessible systems no later than 30 days after the order has been shipped.
- If we are legally required to retain archival copies of PII (for tax or similar regulatory purposes), this archived data is stored as "cold" or offline backup, and it is encrypted using encryption standards that meet Amazon’s requirements.
3. Data Security Measures
We implement industry-standard security measures to protect Amazon Information:
- Encryption at Rest: All PII data stored on our servers is encrypted using AES-256 or better encryption standards.
- Encryption in Transit: PII is encrypted during transmission using HTTPS/TLS 1.2 or higher.
- Access Control: Access to PII is strictly controlled using the principle of least privilege. Access is restricted only to authorized personnel on a Need-to-Know basis (e.g., staff responsible for shipping and order fulfillment).
